OMD FWD w/c June 12th

Hello and welcome to the latest edition of OMD FWD. A week after Apple’s WWDC we’ve heard they will launch their wireless speaker with voice control; ‘HomePod’, this December. Unlike its competing products; Google Home and Amazon Echo, Apple has focused heavily on audio quality with a smart speaker and incredible sound. HomePod integrates with Apple Music and can detect Siri commands from anywhere in the room, even while loud music is being played, so get that on your Christmas list early! In addition to this, Apple will be releasing ‘ARKit’ which is anticipated to be ‘the largest AR platform in the world’, allowing app creators to build high-quality AR experiences on iOS devices using the built-in camera, processors, and motion sensors found on both iPhones and iPads. This has been cleverly designed to ensure users won’t need any special equipment to take advantage of the augmented reality features. Lastly, in Singapore Autobahn Motors have opened a futuristic 15-storey showroom, with vehicles on display in 60 slots, billing it as the “world’s largest luxury car vending machine“. Customers on the ground floor can choose from a touchscreen display which car they wish to see and the car arrives within minutes using an advanced system that manages vehicle retrieval. This concept might be replicated for future parking solutions where the cars won’t all be of the same calibre. As always, please share anything interesting you see via #OMDFWD.
